Jon Rajkovich’s abstract sculptures engage in material’s ability to conceal, reveal, and disguise. Each work suggests its own character through posture and surface appearance. Sometimes this arrangement reflects the otherworldly and imaginative; at other times, his sculptures expose a crude elegance, where hints of unresolvedness are maintained to reflect the complexities of the world as it is, resisting any singular conclusive outcome.

Jon Rajkovich (b. 1974, Detroit, Michigan) received his MFA from Winthrop University and has attended fully–funded residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. He has an extensive exhibition history at venues including Shoshana Wayne in Santa Monica, Susanne Hillberry Gallery in Fernadale, MI, and VisArts in Rockville, MD. Rajkovich’s work has been written about in numerous publications including Art in America, the Chicago Sun Times, Washington Post, Art Papers, the Los Angeles Times, and an overview of his work is included in the book Milk and Honey: Contemporary Art in California.
