Undergraduate Admissions

Admission to George Mason is determined by the Admissions Office and is separate from admission to the School of Art degree programs. The School of Art strongly encourages students to apply to the university by November 1 in order to receive maximum scholarship consideration, including merit and talent-based scholarships. All students who have applied to the University who intend to be candidates for either the BA or BFA in Art and Visual Technology must complete a portfolio review before they are fully matriculated in the School of Art program. Please note that portfolio review requirements are different for Freshmen and Transfer applicants, and for current GMU students. Portfolio review guidelines can be found under the “portfolio review” tab.
