To make sure you get off to a great start, SOA is providing providing information on what kinds of technology we use. Like many other art schools, SOA has been an Apple computing facility for many years. Apple computers have traditionally been the tools of choice among artists, providing a platform of creativity long before any other company even thought about their needs. It has never left the consciousness of artists that Apple computers are as much the tool
of choice for digital artists just as surely as the easel and paintbrush are the tools required by painting artists.
With that in mind, it is the recommendation of the technical director and faculty that you purchase an Apple MacBook Pro for your SOA studies and beyond. SOA has been working with Apple computer and the Patriot Computer store to bring you the best value you can find anywhere else for the MacBook Pro. Along with the Apple Care warranty, special pricing for Adobe's Creative Suite 4 Design Premium, and Microsoft Office Suite pricing can be bundled with your MacBook Pro. You will not find the same low pricing for this bundle anywhere else but from Patriot Computer. These are the two fundamental software titles used within the SOA program of study, and will be used well after completing your studies when you enter the professional work place.
